Welcome — Your Session Starts Here

I’m so excited to photograph you. This page is designed to help you feel relaxed, confident, and prepared, so you can simply show up and enjoy your session while I take care of the rest.

You don’t need to memorise everything here — think of this as a gentle guide, not a checklist.

🌿 Read This First

If you only have a few minutes, start here:

1. Check the session timing
Light matters more than location. Trust the timing we’ve chosen — it’s what creates that soft, natural look you see in my work.

2. Browse the Style Guide
Choose outfits that feel like you. Comfort and movement always photograph better than anything too “perfect”.

3. Skim the rest (or come back later)
Everything else is here to answer questions and ease nerves — not to overwhelm you. You can revisit this page anytime before your session.

FAQs

 Weather & Backup Plan

🌤️ Overcast & Light Cloud

Soft cloud is actually ideal for photos. It creates even light, gentle tones, and no harsh shadows — some of my favourite sessions happen on overcast days.

🌬️ Wind

A little wind adds movement and life to images.
If strong winds are forecast (especially at exposed locations), we’ll adjust the location, timing, or reschedule if needed.

🌧️ Rain

Light mist or drizzle can sometimes work beautifully, depending on the location and your comfort level.
For steady rain or unsafe conditions, we’ll reschedule your session — no stress.

🔥 Extreme Heat / Cold

Your comfort always comes first. In cases of extreme heat or cold, we may:

  • Adjust the session time

  • Shorten the session

  • Reschedule to a more suitable day

    🔁 Rescheduling & Backup Options

I’ll be in touch 24–48 hours prior if weather looks uncertain

Final decisions are usually made the morning of the session, when forecasts are most accurate

Reschedules due to weather are flexible and straightforward

You never need to guess — I’ll guide you through the decision.

    🤍 A Note of Reassurance

Weather doesn’t need to be “perfect” to be beautiful. Light, connection, and emotion matter far more than blue skies — and my job is to make sure you walk away with images you love, whatever the forecast.

What to Bring & How to Prepare

A little preparation goes a long way, but the most important thing is simply showing up as yourselves. This guide is here to help you feel comfortable and confident — not to add pressure.

👜 What to Bring

A few practical things that can make your session smoother:

  • Comfortable shoes for walking between spots (you can change for photos)

  • Water and small snacks (especially for children)

  • A neutral blanket for sitting or cuddling

  • Hair ties, bobby pins, lip balm

  • Insect repellent or sunscreen (non-greasy if possible)

If animals or children are part of your session, feel free to bring:

  • Favourite snacks or treats

  • A comfort item (we can tuck it away when needed)

👗 How to Prepare (Without Overthinking It)

    • Choose outfits you can move, sit, and laugh in

    • Steam or iron clothing the day before if needed

    • Aim for coordinated, not matching

    • Neutrals and soft tones photograph beautifully outdoors

If you’re unsure, the Style Guide will help — and I’m always happy to advise.

    Preparing Mentally

    (This Matters Most)

You don’t need to know how to pose or “perform” for the camera.

    • Movement is encouraged

    • Interaction matters more than perfection

    • Kids don’t need to behave

    • Awkward moments are normal — and often lead to the best images

Your only job is to be present. I’ll guide you through everything else.

    ✨ On the Day

    • Eat beforehand

    • Allow a little extra time to arrive calmly

    • Take a deep breath — you’re in good hands

The more relaxed you are, the more natural your photos will feel.

Timing & What to Expect

Outdoor sessions are unhurried and relaxed, allowing time for movement, connection, and those in-between moments that make images feel natural and real.

🕰️ Session Length

Most sessions run for 60–90 minutes.

This allows:

  • Time to settle in without rushing

  • Natural transitions between locations or spots

  • Breaks if children or animals need them

  • Space for genuine moments to unfold

There’s no pressure to be “on” the entire time — we move at a comfortable pace.

🌿 How the Session Flows

Rather than stiff posing, I’ll gently guide you through:

  • Walking, standing, sitting, and moving naturally

  • Simple prompts instead of fixed poses

  • Interaction over perfection

You’ll never be left wondering what to do — I’ll direct where needed while leaving room for real connection.

👶 If Kids (or Animals) Are Involved

Sessions are designed with flexibility in mind:

  • Kids don’t need to behave or smile on cue

  • Curiosity, movement, and play are welcome

  • Breaks are encouraged

  • Animals can take time to settle — that’s expected

Some of the best images happen once everyone forgets the camera is there.

✨ What Makes the Best Photos

  • Trust the process

  • Focus on each other, not the lens

  • Embrace the imperfect moments

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s honest, beautiful imagery that feels like you.

🤍 A Final Reassurance

If at any point you’re unsure, uncomfortable, or need a pause, just let me know. These sessions are collaborative, calm, and created around you.
